I like to keep a placemat on my desk when I paint my nails so I don’t stain my desk. And I also like to have a work surface that I can scribble on, or wipe things off on while I’m busy doing nail art. I have found the perfect solution for that at Black Cat Nails ! My friend Arden designed some diy nail art design sheets that you can download and print yourself! They’re great to protect your work surface, but also to try out ideas and practice your nail art on them. There’s nothing worse than trying out a new nail art technique on your nails for the first time, completely messing it up, and having to take out your nail polish remover to start over from scratch ! Trying it out first on one of her sheets may end all that nonsense!

I was all googoo gaagaa over these sheets so Arden even made me a version for my pointy nails. Sometimes they can be found in the background of my swatches….like here, where I’m wearing a bright yellow from AVON called Inspire. See the pointy nail template in the back? I always have one of her templates on my nail desk!

Arden has created many different sheets for all the popular nail shapes- pointy, square, stiletto, etc and she also designed two different styles- a full hand template and a single nail template. Rather than me try to explain them- go to her site and check them out! I’m also putting a widget on my toolbar so you can always find them and print more when you need them. Kairi says: September 20, 2014 at 12:14 pm Oh I do love the templates. I’ve been using ones by Nail Lacquer UK ever since the spring. I’ve been sketching down tape designs mostly, cause otherwise they’d be just a huge mess, since I tend to forget in what order to place the tape down when I have to work one nail at a time 😛 Reply Craftynail says: September 20, 2014 at 9:09 pm Thanks, and yeah I think I’ve seen those! Ave has some really cool resources on her site too Reply

Reply Craftynail says: September 21, 2014 at 12:32 pm It’s two coats by itself, one of my fave yellows ever! http://www.craftynail.com/2014/04/yellow/ Reply
